Question:394 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the progress in regard to the provision of the promised new Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21257/03]

A design sketch scheme was issued to the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform for approval. The Department subsequently requested significant alterations to the sketch scheme. Office of Public Works has advised the Department that the proposed alterations are not appropriate in the circumstances of the Leixlip site. The Department is currently reconsidering the matter.
