Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Staffing.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

488 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received correspondence from a person (details supplied) who has been refused a job sharing arrangement; if, in view of the compassionate grounds for agreeing to the job sharing, he will review this case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19943/03]

My Department has received a letter from the person concerned regarding the decision of her board of management to refuse her application for job sharing. This letter was replied to on 1 August 2003. The position is that the approval of an application for job sharing is a matter for the school authorities.
