625 Mr. O'Dowd asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding annual grants for member organisations of the National Youth Council of Ireland; and if he will increase the annual grant by ?5 million as requested by the National Youth Council of Ireland. [20713/03]

My Department has already notified youth work organisations affiliated to the National Youth Council of Ireland of its financial allocations for 2003. The National Youth Council of Ireland's request for additional funding for 2004 will be considered in the context of the 2004 Estimates process.
