John Deasy

Question:

709 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will provide a class assistant for a child (details supplied) in County Waterford who suffers from Down's syndrome. [21228/03]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that 23 hours 20 minutes per week part-time special needs assistant support has been sanctioned to cater for the needs of the child referred to by the Deputy.

My Department notified the school in writing on 25 September 2003 of the outcome.
