745 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the issues delaying the sanctioning of a foreshore licence in Buncrana, County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20196/03]
An appli cation was made to my Department, on behalf of Buncrana Town Council, for a foreshore lease in respect of the proposed development of a marina at Buncrana.
It has been necessary for the Department to obtain further information on the proposals and to address also the fact that certain dredging and reclamation operations have already been carried out in the area to which the application for a foreshore lease relates.
Consideration of the council's application will be progressed as quickly as possible, when all necessary information is to hand.
