822 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children the total number of children and adults in each health board area who are physically disabled, have intellectual disability and are physically and intellectually disabled; and the number in respect of each category and age group who are institutionalised in each health board area. [19836/03]
Details of the number of children and adults with intellectual disability and their residential circumstances by health board area in 2001 from the national intellectual disability database is supplied for the Deputy's information. The information available from the database does not indicate whether individuals have an additional physical disability.
In respect of the information requested by the Deputy in relation to persons with a physical disability, the information is not readily available in the Department. My Department has, therefore, asked the boards to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him.
