Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - State Properties.

Jack Wall

Question:

179 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Finance the steps which are being taken to prevent the theft of property from State buildings of architectural merit, in view of the reported increase in the theft of such materials; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20776/03]

Security risk assessments are carried out on an ongoing basis on buildings of this nature. Bodies involved in these assessments include the Office of Public Works, fire and security section, Garda Síochána liaison and protection section; and local management. Resulting from this, appropriate security systems and measures to the highest standards are then implemented.
