Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospitals Building Programme.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

997 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children the proposals he has to proceed with phase II of the building project at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dungarvan, County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21018/03]

My Department has not received from the South-Eastern Health Board a detailed submission in relation to a proposed phase II development at St. Joseph's Hospital. It is my Department's understanding that the board's priority under the national development plan has been to provide new facilities at St. Vincent's Hospital, Dungarvan. If my Department receives such a submission from the board in relation to St. Joseph's, it will be considered in the context of overall funding resources available for health service developments.
