Written Answers. - Stardust Fire.

Finian McGrath

Question:

1103 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position regarding the 1981 Stardust fire disaster in Artane, Dublin 5; if new evidence has become available; and if the families will be provided with the maximum advice, support and assistance. [19642/03]

The Deputy will be aware that recently representatives from my Department, the Department of Health and Children and the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government have held a number of meetings with representatives of the Stardust Victims Committee, at which it has been stated that any new evidence brought forward by the committee in relation to the cause of the fire would be examined. My Department awaits receipt of documentation in relation to any new evidence.
