Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

John Perry

Question:

1126 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the Land Registry will process the application received from a person (details supplied); the progress made to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19864/03]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application for first registration which was lodged on 12 June 2003. Dealing Number D2003SM004963A refers. I understand that due to the complicated nature of these type of cases, which require examination of an applicant's entitlement to the property concerned, it is not possible to estimate a date of completion at this time.

I am further informed that a reply was received on 24 September 2003 to queries which had issued to the lodging solicitors on 1 September 2003 and that the matter is receiving further attention. I can assure the Deputy, that the application is receiving attention in the Land Registry and once all outstanding queries have been satisfactorily dealt with the matter will be brought to a conclusion as quickly as possible.
