Vol. 571 No. 1

Written Answers. - Housing Grants.

Seán Power

Question:

1293 Mr. S. Power asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kildare, acting on advice from his Department to apply for a disabled person's new house grant which was subsequently refused, cannot be awarded the first-time buyer's grant, which was their original application. [20493/03]

Applications under the first-time buyer's new house grant scheme, which was terminated as and from 14 November 2002, were required to be received in my Department on or before 4 December 2002. There is no record of the receipt of an application for the grant from the person named at the address given by that date and, accordingly, a grant cannot be allowed.
