Vol. 571 No. 2

Written Answers. - Higher Education Courses.

John Perry

Question:

261 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science the steps he has taken to ensure that the occupational therapy course goes ahead in NUI Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21430/03]

The accreditation of the occupational therapy programme at NUI Galway is a matter for resolution between the university and the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland, as accrediting body. I understand that good progress has now been made between the two parties in this regard and that the process of accreditation is in train. As a result, the students have now been informed by NUI Galway that the programme is going ahead as planned.
