29 Mr. Murphy asked the Minister for Education and Science if he is committed to introducing the modular graduate diploma in education; the reason for the delay in setting this up; when he expects it to be in operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21562/03]
A decision on the introduction of a modular course for primary teaching will be made in the context of the primary teacher supply situation nationally. My Department is currently examining the teacher supply and demand needs in order to facilitate in planning for the future. It is expected that this examination will be completed shortly.
