Question:

287 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Education and Science the total amount in rental costs paid to date following the relocation of the Cork School of Music in 2001; the estimated future costs and payments to be made following further recent lease agreements; the duration of such agreements; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22233/03]

Temporary accommodation for the Cork School of Music has been leased by the Cork Institute of Technology since July 2001 at a cost of €177,763 per quarter, exclusive of VAT. The lease was recently extended until 28 February 2004 at the same rent. The lease agreement also provides options whereby the institute may extend the lease until 31st August 2005 at the same rent.

The total rent paid to date is €1,599,867, exclusive of VAT.
