291 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will take steps to ensure that there is adequate capacity provided on the school bus serving the Rathowen-Ballinclough area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22237/03]

292 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has satisfied himself that there is adequate capacity on the school bus serving the pupils from the Rathowen-Ballyclough area and transporting them to schools in the Mullingar area; if he will ensure the provision of a larger bus to accommodate the 44 pupils utilising the said bus; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 291 and 292 together.

A report on the matter raised by the Deputies has been requested from the transport liaison officer, County Westmeath VEC. The Deputies will be advised of the position as soon as the report has been received and assessed.
