Vol. 571 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Simon Coveney

Question:

338 Mr. Coveney asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the way in which spending in the first nine months of 2003 compares to the budgeted profile for spending of each major programme of his Department's spending; his forecast for year-end overruns; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22139/03]

The following table sets out, in relation to my Department's expenditure programmes, the 2003 estimate, forecasted and actual provisional expenditure to end September and the forecasted end year outturn.

The total 2003 Estimate for the Department is €543.15 million. The profiled expenditure to end September reflects projected monthly expenditure trends for 2003 as determined by my Department at the beginning of the year. Gross expenditure to end September was generally in line with profile, 91%, and the end year outturn is projected to be on target with the overall Estimate.
