381 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if investment in the arts will be increased particularly for the Glór Irish Music Centre in Ennis, County Clare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22281/03]

Capital grants of €5.67 million have been approved for the Ennis International Music Centre, Glór, by my Department since 1998. There are no plans to increase this amount. Current financial support for arts venues, including Glór, is a matter for the Arts Council, which, although funded by Government, is independent in the disbursement of the funds available to it.
