Vol. 571 No. 4

Written Answers. - Primary Medical Certificates.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

391 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Health and Children the action he proposes to take in relation to the two years' backlog in the appeals system for the primary medical certificate. [21839/03]

As the Deputy is aware under section 6(1) of the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Scheme, 1994, on my nomination, the Minister for Finance appoints medical practitioners to the disabled drivers medical board of appeal. I have forwarded the names of two medical practitioners to my colleague the Minister for Finance within the last week for appointment.
