Vol. 571 No. 4

Written Answers. - Health Board Services.

Mary Upton

Question:

436 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will investigate ongoing delays in the provision of the occupational therapy service in the Ballyfermot/Inchicore and Cherry Orchard areas, the reason this service has taken no reforms to improve the service (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22437/03]

The provision of occupational therapy services, and any matters relating to such provision, within its functional area, is a matter for the relevant health board or the Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA). In the case of the Ballyfermot/Inchicore and Cherry Orchard areas this responsibility lies with the ERHA.

In the circumstances my Department has requested the regional chief executive officer of the ERHA to reply direct to the Deputy.

Question:

437 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding badly-needed refurbishment works to a centre (details supplied) in Dublin 10. [22438/03]

Responsibility for the issue raised by the Deputy rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to her directly.
