Vol. 572 No. 2

Written Answers. - Visa Applications.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

179 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position regarding a visa application from a person (details supplied). [22741/03]

The immigration division of my Department received a visa application from the person concerned on 16 September 2003 to enable him to enter the State to work under the work permit scheme. The application was accompanied by a copy of the applicant's passport and work permit. The application was refused on 30 September as the work permit accompanying the visa application, although issued in November 2002, was due to expire on 19 November 2003. It is open to the applicant to appeal against the refusal by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department, enclosing his renewed work permit.
