Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the member in each case: (1) Deputy Durkan – the subject matter and reply thereto to Question No. 20952/03 of 30 September 2003; (2) Deputy Burton – the crisis in accident and emergency services at James Connolly Memorial Hospital; (3) Deputy Finian McGrath – the crisis in the residential waiting list of 263 people with intellectual disabilities at St. Michael's House, Ballymun, Dublin 9; (4) Deputy Morgan – the need to ensure that the former US navy ships knows as the "toxic ghost fleet" will not under any circumstances be allowed to enter Irish territorial waters; (5) Deputy Gogarty – the need for the Minister for Health and Children to intervene to preserve the chest hospital at Peamount Hospital; (6) Deputy Connaughton – the steps taken to ensure that the live export of cattle will be safeguarded by ensuring that the resting stations for cattle in transit will be maintained across Europe; (7) Deputy Gilmore – the decision of the Minister for Education and Science to close St. Catherine's College of Home Economics, Sion Hill, Blackrock, County Dublin; (8) Deputy McGinley – the crisis in Loughanure national school, west Donegal, where the parents have decided to withdraw 65 pupils from the school; (9) Deputy Sargent – the need for the Government to ensure that the original proposal for a metro to serve the growing metropolis of Swords, capital of Fingal, proceeds without further delay; (10) Deputy Michael Moynihan – the level of investment by Departments and State agencies on printing costs for glossy brochure-type publications and annual reports; (11) Deputy Ó Caoláin – the decision by the parents of 65 pupils attending Loughanure national school in west Donegal to withdraw their children from classes; (12) Deputy Eamon Ryan – the request by the Minister for Transport to postpone the proposed DART upgrade work in the month of December; the likely financial cost following the agreement to such a proposal by Iarnród Éireann; and the level of communication between the Department and Iarnród Éireann in preparation of final details regarding the project; and (13) Deputy Fiona O'Malley – the UNFPA state of world population 2003 report and the alarming rise in STDs in Ireland as reported by the NDSC.

The matters raised by Deputies McGinley, Burton, O'Malley and Sargent have been selected for discussion.
