Vol. 572 No. 4

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

166.
Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a medical card was refused to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if the case will be reviewed; and if the card will be issued. [23501/03]
Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin): Responsibility for the provision of a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board/authority. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
