Vol. 572 No. 4

Written Answers. - Legal Costs.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

192 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the legal costs in family law cases have been monitored; if the costs are in line with expectations and projections at the time of passing of the relevant legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23492/03]

Costs in family law cases, as in all law cases, is a matter for the solicitor and client. Costs are not monitored by the Courts Service nor is it informed by the parties to a case of the costs which have been paid by the litigants.
