Vol. 573 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

182 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government if a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid the cull ewe scheme for 2003, for the sheep they destocked in 1998; and if this person is entitled to payment, when it will issue. [24663/03]

My Department makes compensation payments on the basis of information provided by the Department of Agriculture and Food. At present my Department is in the process of clarifying whether there is an entitlement in this particular case. If the person named qualifies for the payment, he will be notified in writing, in advance of the payment being made.
