55 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the number of work permits issued by her Department in 2003 to date; the employment sectors covered by these permits; the country of origin of each permit holder; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Detailed statistics on work permits issued are available on the work permits web page of my Department's website at www.entemp.ie. The number of work permits issued to end September 2003 is 36,225. I have arranged to have the Deputy supplied with tables showing the sectors in respect of which these permits were issued as well as the nationalities of the employees concerned.
