Vol. 573 No. 2

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Dan Boyle

Question:

95 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Finance if, further to his response that a site is being sought for the provision of a new Garda station at Ballincollig, County Cork, the Department of Defence is meant to be providing such a site; the progress of such a land transfer; and if the two Departments are co-operating fully on this matter. [24716/03]

The Commissioners of Public Works are currently in negotiations with the Department of Defence with regard to the acquisition of a site for a new Garda station in Ballincollig. The purchase will depend on the priority accorded it by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and availability of the necessary funding.
