176 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Transport the measures Aer Rianta is taking and intends to take to remove and clean the illegal landfill operated by them at Dernish Island in the Shannon Estuary special area of conservation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27899/03]

I have no function in the matter referred to by the Deputy. This is a day-to-day matter for Aer Rianta, the local authority concerned, in this case Clare County Council, and the Environmental Protection Agency.
