Vol. 575 No. 1

Written Answers. - Illegal Immigrants.

Aengus Ó Snodaigh

Question:

212 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will investigate the case of a person (details supplied); if there is a remedy available to this person; and if they will be allowed to return here in the future. [27983/03]

This is a matter for the British immigration authorities and is outside my jurisdiction.

As regards entry by the person in question to this State in future, the Aliens Orders 1946 as amended provides that an immigration officer has the discretion to decide if a non-EEA national seeking to enter this State should be granted or refused leave to land upon arrival in the State. Each case is decided on an individual basis and it is not possible to determine in advance if a person will be granted leave to land.
