Vol. 575 No. 1

Written Answers. - State Airports.

Joe Sherlock

Question:

88 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for Transport the terms of reference and the progress made to date in the discussions between his Department and the trade unions regarding the future of Aer Rianta; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27820/03]

Following an agreement reached with officials of my Department on 3 November last, my Department has had several meetings with ICTU and the group of unions in Aer Rianta to deal with concerns on their part arising from the Government decision last July on the restructuring of the three State airports and to deal with other major aviation policy issues on which a final decision has not been taken. These latter include the concept of an independent terminal at Dublin Airport and the future of the Shannon "stop" policy. As these discussions are still in hand, I do not wish to comment on their content.

Question No. 89 answered with Question No. 61.
