Vol. 575 No. 3

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Richard Bruton

Question:

328 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government the number of local authority and social housing starts in each of the past three years; and his estimate for starts in 2003 and 2004. [28096/03]

Information on local authority and social housing starts for the past three years has been published in my Department's annual housing statistics bulletins, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.

It is expected that local authorities will start/acquire 5,000 housing units in 2003 and a further 5,500 housing units in 2004. Both these figures include new house starts in Ballymun and under other regeneration programmes.
