357 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the amount paid in the last year to people receiving the SWA money advice and budgeting service supplement; the number of people benefited from the supplement for that period. [28361/03]

358 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the amount paid in the past year to recipients of the diet supplement and the crèche supplement; and the number of persons benefited from each scheme for that period. [28362/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 357 and 358 together.

Details of recipient numbers and expenditure relating to the money advice and budgeting service, MABS, and diet and crèche supplements under the terms of the supplementary welfare allowance scheme in 2002 and to date in 2003 are as shown on the following tabular statement.

The figures for recipient numbers and expenditure reflects the position at the end of December 2002 and at 21 November 2003.
