Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Pat Breen

Question:

232 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Clare who was admitted at the weekend of 22 November 2003 to Limerick Regional Hospital with type 1 diabetes was not transferred on 24 November 2003 to the specialist diabetic team under a person (details supplied); if adequate resources have been provided by his Department to the diabetic clinic; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28932/03]

The provision of hospital services for persons resident in County Clare is a matter for the Mid-Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position and to reply directly to the Deputy.
