Vol. 576 No. 1

Written Answers. - Medical Cards.

John McGuinness

Question:

254 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a medical card was refused in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if a card will be issued to this person. [29164/03]

Responsibility for the provision of a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board or authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
