Vol. 576 No. 1

Written Answers. - Housing Aid for the Elderly.

John McGuinness

Question:

255 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of applications under the special housing aid for the elderly scheme approved but not paid for 2001 and 2002; if the funding is now available to cover these applications; the number approved but not paid in 2003; if an application in the name of persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny will be expedited; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29165/03]

As the Deputy will be aware, the special housing aid for the elderly scheme is operated by the health boards or the Eastern Regional Health Authority on behalf of the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. Statistics in relation to applications under this scheme are collated by that Department and it has been asked by my Department to pass on the relevant information directly to the Deputy, if it is available. My Department has also asked the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board to reply directly to the Deputy about the question asked about a specific individual case.
