Vol. 576 No. 3

International Peace Missions Bill 2003: First Stage.

I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to authorise, subject to the prior approval of Dáil Éireann, the despatch of contingents of the permanent defence force for service outside the State with international peace missions established for the performance of peace duties, and for that purpose to amend the Defence Act 1954.

Is the Bill opposed?

Question put and agreed to.

Since this is a Private Members' Bill, Second Stage must, under Standing Orders, be taken in Private Members' time.

I move: "That the Second Stage be taken in Private Members' time."

Question put and agreed to.
