Vol. 576 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Code.

Denis Naughten

Question:

68 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Finance the plans he has to extend the upper Shannon tax designation scheme for a further 12 months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29552/03]

In budget 2004, I announced that the final qualifying date for incurring expenditure under the rural renewal scheme is being extended from 31 December 2004 to 31 July 2006. To qualify for this time extension, a full planning application must be received in the relevant planning authority by 31 December 2004. The extension to the qualifying date for commercial and industrial projects is subject to clearance by the European Commission in line with state-aid rules.
