Vol. 576 No. 3

Written Answers. - Passport Applications.

Arthur Morgan

Question:

72 Mr. Morgan asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of persons resident in the North who hold passports issued by this State. [29593/03]

It is not possible to accurately indicate the number of persons resident in Northern Ireland who hold Irish passports. However, from the information provided in passport applications, it is estimated that approximately 122,000 passports have been issued over the last five years to persons resident in Northern Ireland. The total number of passports issued to persons residing on the island of Ireland over the same period is approximately 2,055,000.
