The information requested by the Deputy is given in the following tabular statement in respect of the special projects for youth scheme funded by my Department. In addition, funding amounting to €9.4 million is being made available in 2003 to national and major regional youth organisations under the youth service grant scheme. These organisations offer a range of youth work programmes and services countrywide.
Funding amounting to €177,170 is being made available in 2003 to County Dublin VEC, under the local youth club grant scheme, for the support of local youth groups and clubs in the VEC's administrative area. City of Dublin Youth Service Board apportion €500,000 of its annual grant towards the running costs of a parallel local youth clubs scheme.
