Vol. 576 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Properties.

Arthur Morgan

Question:

87 Mr. Morgan asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if the State pays ground rent on the GPO; if so, the amount per year; and when the ground rent lease is due to expire. [29609/03]

The State does not pay ground rent on the GPO. The GPO is occupied by An Post under a 50 year licence granted in July 1985. The ownership of the premises is vested in the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources on behalf of the State.
