120 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of cases the agriculture appeals office has dealt with since it was established; the number of appeals which were successful; and the number which were unsuccessful. [30571/03]

The agriculture appeals office was established on 13 May 2002. From that date to 9 December 2003 the office has dealt with 1,266 appeals, broken down as follows:

Appeal allowed	224
Appeal partially allowed	130
Decision revised by Department	126
Appeal withdrawn	27
Appeal not valid-out of time	69
Advice given*	2
Appeal disallowed	688
	1,266

*Cases involving the revocation of dealers approval and registration. These were referred by the Department of Agriculture and Food to the Director of Agriculture Appeals for advice in accordance with section 13 of the Agriculture Appeals Act 2001.
