Question:

160 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science if he intends to sanction the completion of the architectural planning for the required extension to Maynooth post primary school, Maynooth, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30626/03]

The proposed large scale building project for Maynooth vocational school is listed in section 7 of the 2003 school building programme which is published on my Department's website at www.education.ie This proposed project is at stage 3 of architectural planning, developed sketch scheme. It has been assigned a band 3 rating by my Department in accordance with the published criteria for prioritising large scale projects.

I intend to publish details of the 2004 school building programme by early January at the latest. The programme will clarify what progress is planned for projects, such as that proposed for Maynooth vocational school, during 2004.

161 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction the seeking of tenders for the required extension to Sallins national school, Sallins, County Kildare, in view of the urgent need to provide additional accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30627/03]

The large scale building project for Sallins national school, Sallins, County Kildare, is listed in section 6 of the 2003 school building programme which is published on my Department's website at www.education.ie This project is at stage 4/5 of architectural planning, detailed design-bill of quantities. It has been assigned a band 2 rating by my Department in accordance with the published criteria for prioritising large scale projects.

I intend to publish details of the 2004 school building programme by early January at the latest. The programme will clarify what progress is planned for projects, such as that proposed for Sallins national school during 2004.
