Vol. 577 No. 1

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Joe Higgins

Question:

171 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will make funding available to the Centre for Independent Living, Blanchardstown, to allow suitable personal assistants to be taken on for their clients. [30641/03]

The provision of health related services, including funding for personal assistants, for people with physical and-or sensory disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the regional chief executive of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he examines the matter and replies directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
