Vol. 577 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John McGuinness

Question:

180 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food further to Question No. 191 of 9 December 2003, if he can review the decision again in view of the fact that the margin is 0.0665 and in view of the overall circumstances of the case; if there is an allowance or flexibility that can be expressed in cases such as this whereby the call is so close; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31152/03]

The stocking density limit for qualification for 2002 extensification premium at the lower rate of payment is 1.80 livestock units per hectare. EU regulations specify that when calculating stocking density account must be taken of the first two decimal places. Since the stocking density of the holding of the person named exceeds 1.80 livestock units per hectare, it is regretted that he cannot be considered for payment of 2002 extensification premium.
