The school planning section of my Department is responsible for planning the provision of suitable cost effective accommodation to underpin the delivery of first and second level education. The need for accommodation or improvements to existing accommodation is assessed in all areas by reference to changing demographics, capacity to optimise use among existing providers and the prioritisation criteria outlined in the 2003 school building programme.
