Vol. 577 No. 3

Written Answers. - Decentralisation Programme.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

497 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Transport the number, in respect of the sections of his Department or boards or agencies operating under the aegis of his Department, it is proposed to decentralise which are housed in leased office space or premises; the annual amount paid in rent in each case; when the lease runs out in each case; if there are financial penalties involved in the breaking of the lease in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31302/03]

The approximate numbers and new locations of the Department of Transport division and the relevant agencies to be decentralised are set out in table 3 of part IV of the summary of 2004 budget measures. This is also available at www.budget.gov.ie/2004/budmeasu04.aspThe Office of Public Works provides premises for my Department. Questions relating to leases and rent paid are a matter for the Office of Public Works and the semi-State bodies listed in the decentralisation programme.

The location of the headquarters of a Department dealing with the marine brief is a matter for the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources.
