Vol. 577 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Investigations.

John Bruton

Question:

512 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to a report in a newspaper (details supplied) with the effect that the IRA was carrying out surveillance on certain Fianna Fáil figures for political purposes. [30829/03]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that there is no information available to the Garda Síochána to indicate that the Provisional IRA carried out, in recent times, surveillance on certain Fianna Fáil figures for political purposes.
