Question:93 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Education and Science the details of the process whereby multi-annual funding will operate for school building projects; the likely percentage of existing schools which the current financing will cover; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 80 and 93 together.
I will publish details of the 2004 school building programme this week. The programme is designed to provide managers, boards of management, principals, parents and students with the maximum amount of information and to provide assurance that the building programme is being operated in an open and transparent manner. The programme will clarify the progress to be made on individual projects in 2004 as well as my position on the multi-annual funding process.
