92 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Science the amount of the allocation under the building programme for his Department that has been spent to date; the amount he expects to have spent by the end of 2003; if it is intended to return funding from this programme to the Department of Finance due to under spending in 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Education and Science (Mr. N. Dempsey):

My Department has spent €318 million under the 2003 school building programme – primary and post-primary sectors – to date. It is expected that the full allocation of €342.9 million for 2003 will be spent.
