125 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if he has received submissions from or met with the promoters of the Anna Livia opera festival, Dublin; if so, the outcome of such discussions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31881/03]

I met with the promoters of the Anna Livia opera festival in October and explained that support for events such as the Anna Livia opera festival is entirely a matter for the Arts Council, whose funding decisions are taken independently of Government.
