Vol. 577 No. 5

Written Answers. - Road Signage.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

162 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Transport, further to Parliamentary Question No. 371 of 9 December, the action his Department will take if South Dublin County Council continues to ignore his Department's advice on speed limit repeater signs and traffic signs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31787/03]

As outlined in my reply earlier this month, the provision of traffic signs is a matter for each road authority acting within the structures established in the Road Traffic Acts. I do not have a role in supervising road authorities on their provision of traffic signs. The issue raised in Question No. 371 was referred to the relevant county council manager.
